Social Media Helping to Make a Difference in our Community

The Worcester County Reserve Deputy Sheriff's Association is a non profit charitable organization that through private and corporate donations sponsors hundreds of worthy charitable causes throughout the region.  Last year, in partnership with Wachusett Mountain and the New England Revolution over 3,000 new and lightly used winter jackets were distributed to families in need across Worcester County to help keep them warm during the cold winter months.  For the Sheriff's Annual Food Drive together with the Worcester Sharks, WPI & the Friendly House over 25 tons of donated food items were collected and distributed helping over 2,000 families in need with a wonderful meal for theThanksgiving Holiday.   In addition, the WCRDSA has collected hundreds of toys for the Annual Holiday Rock Toy Drive to help less fortunate children and in honor of our seniors,  sponsors the Sheriff's Annual Senior Picnic. Attended by over 1,000 seniors, this special day provides our senior community with a wonderful day of fun, food and bingo.  All of these amazing charitable works are possible because Social Media helps to promote them:

Each year the Reserve Deputy Sheriff's Association is honored to help those in need.  In today's world, Social Media is a MUST to help creatively continue and expand these charitable programs which rely entirely on donations and volunteers to help make a difference for so many in our community.

As the Director of the Worcester County Reserve Deputy Sheriff's Association, my hope is this blog will help to champion that effort.  I have already found a link that provides GREAT ideas that will help the WCRDSA promote its good works and I hope to find many more in my on-line travels: http://socialmediatoday.com/mac-ocampo/1917436/how-non-profits-can-leverage-social-media-marketing
